Any tips for a Back to School Look?

I'm a girl going into 8th grade. The styles keep changing, and Im going on a shopping spree soon. What should I buy? Im a little on the chubby side but not too bad. I really need help. Last year I had th lamest clothes. This year I made a pact to myself that I'll try to have the cutest clothes in school. (or at;east as close as I can get) I was thinking of just jeans and a T-shirt. But I wanna stand out. I want people to look at me and think. "Wow, she has great style." But IDK how to accomplish that HELP!
