Why are americans so deluded into complacency?

Has the news and entertainment industry owned by fox,Ge,and westinghouse achieved a mind numb populace thats pacified and has total trust that big daddy government has thier interest at heart? Profits and markets mean nothing to the poor dumb downed populace as the cartel kings reap the billions.Why has this been so easy?
